Hello everyone! It's been a while since we last updated the blog, my how things have changed. On Feburary 26, 2009 at 2:31 PM, Caden Michael Canfield was born. Weighing in at 8lbs 6oz, 20.5 inches long and a head size of 14.5 inches. Our handsome baby boy is doing extremely well; eating, pooping and sleeping with no concerns.
Crystal on the other hand has had quite the trying time since delivery. There were three dermoid cists removed one as large as a baseball. A few hours after her C-section delivery she was losing a large amount of blood, so the Dr.'s and nursing staff acted quickly to get her back into surgery to diagnose what was going on. After cleaning up the concern initially, she ended up needing a historectomy. Following surgery her vitals stabalized for about 2hours and then bleeding started again. So they decided to take her to Interventional Radiology to do a dye test and see where things were coming from. She had a small amount of bleeding from one side of her utarian valve, in which they used a foam gell to try and plug on the other side (right) she had a little more bleeding so they use the foam gell and a coil to help plug. This procedure helped for about 12hours. Then they started seeing the same symptoms as before. So the Dr.'s decided to try the same procedure again to diagnose. Turns out the left side foam gell did not take and they went ahead and placed a coil and foam gell last night at alil' after 9PM.
Since then Crystal seems to be getting better by the hour. We have about a 48hour window. Once she's went that long without any complications we should be in the clear, so to speak.
I'll do my best to keep everyone up to date. Here are some pictures of Crystal before delivery and Caden after delivery.
We are very thankful for everyone's thoughts and prayer's during this troubling time.
