New Development

Well, she can now sit up on her own. We still surround her with pillows just in case, but she can sit up and play for a little while all by herself. She will either play on the floor, or in the pack-n-play. She also doesn't mind hanging out in her bumbo chair. She sat and watched a little bit of a cartoon the other day in her little chair. She is eating three meals a day now, with 2 snacks. She will eat breakfast-oatmeal/fruit, snack (usually a bottle), lunch-a jar of meat/vegetable medley, dinner-rice cereal/vegetable, and then sometimes a bedtime bottle at 8. She has been sleeping 10-12 hours a night. It has been wonderful. She still takes about 3 naps a day (30-45 min ones). She still hasn't rolled over, but she sure does love her walker, and exersaucer. We believe she is going to skip the rolling over all together and go straight to walking :) I weighed her yesterday at the house, and she was 17 pounds 13 ounces. She is getting so long as well. She is definitely in the 6-9 month clothing b/c of length now. She thoroughly enjoys bathtime, and still gets into giggle fits.

6 Month Update/Laugh attack

Skyler had her 6 month appointment yesterday. The doctor was very pleased with her growth. Here are her measurements..........

Head: 43 cm

Height: 26.5 inches

Weight: 17 pounds 4 ounces

She is almost in the 75% for everything. The doctor said she was very well proportioned :) She also kept commenting on how tall she thought she was for her age. I am very glad to hear that seeings how I have never ever heard the word "tall" in a doctor's office I have been in :). She is going to be starting stage 2 food (w/c has processed meats, and more interesting fruits and vegetables for her to try), and she will be eating like a big girl. She will get 3 meals a day with a couple snacks (bottles) during the day. She received a flu shot along with her regular vaccinations as well. She did very well with her shots. She only cried for a second, then it was over. She slept very well last night (9 1/2 hours), so we are hoping this continues with her new feeding schedule. Her next appointment isn't until April. We will keep you updated on her progress. Here are some videos of her taken about a week ago at Chad's mom's house. She was feeding her. and Skyler just couldn't stop giggling at her. It was great. Enjoy!

Mandy's wedding/Punta Cana trip/X-mas 2007

OK, so I have to cram in 2 months of information here for everyone. Sorry it's been so long, but we have been crazy busy lately. As most of you know, Mandy got married on the 17th of December in the Dominican Republic. It was a beautiful wedding, and an awesome trip. Definitely different travels for Chad and I with a little one :) Skyler did very well. We were very impressed with her swimming skills. She loved the water so much that it was difficult getting her out by the end of the week. She had to have her shades on though b/c the sun was too bright, and she would splash herself in the eyes :)

Skyler is eating oatmeal with some gerber fruit food in the mornings, and rice cereal with a gerber vegetable at night. Of course she has some bottles of formula in between. I would have to say the oatmeal is her favorite, and the gerber bananas. She is getting to be such a big girl. She loves to stand and walk in her walker (she can now move forward instead of backward all the time). She has given up the pacifier except in crucial tired situations. She has 2 bottom teeth that popped up on December 11th. I think that may be why she has gotten rid of the pacifier. She loves the teethers and to suck on anything that gets close to her mouth (including fingers-OUCH!). She is such a happy baby. She laughs a lot, smiles all the time, and is doing very well in her crib now. She sleeps 6-8 hours, wants a bottle, then sleeps another 4-5 hours. Mommy is really enjoying this :)

She had a great X-mas. She received tons of toys and clothes from the Goin Grandparents (they always over-do it), and received a bookcase full of books form the Canfield Grandparents. She will be very well educated by the time she can actually read :) She also received toys, and her 1st X-mas ornament from her Grandma McClay. We thank all of our family members for making her 1st X-mas so special.

We have our 6 month appointment on the 7th, so I will give you all the updates on her weight, height, and head circumference. I think the doctor will be impressed :) I will try to attach as many photos of all the events that I can.
