Well, it's hard to believe, but little Skyler just had her 4 month Dr. visit (including shots, ouch!!). She is now in the 49th percentile in Height (24 inches), 70th percentile in Weight (14lbs 3 oz.), and 50th percentile in Head Size. The Dr. gave the go-ahead to try rice cereal, so that should be fun. She was a lil' tiger for Halloween, but she slept through all the trick or treaters' we had at the house. We also had a five generation photo of the Benson's (Chad's Mom's side of the family). It's crazy seeing how much she has grown in the past 4 months.... here are some recent pictures!!

Finally family photos

Well, our little one is doing much better. The medicine seems to be helping her. There have only been a couple times where she's been sick and fussy since she's been on her meds. I weighed her yesterday at home, and she's up to 12 lbs. 3 oz now. Her next doctors visit is Nov. 10th. We will keep you all posted.

Our happy baby

So, we had her 2 month appointment on Sept. 9th. She was 10 lbs. 11 oz. She is in the 50% for her weight, and 25% for her head and length (21 1/2 length, 37 1/2 head). She had her vaccinations, w/c she did very well with. She cried for a second, then it was over. She wasn't even cranky that evening. She slept very well though :)
I had to take her in yesterday (Sept. 24th)due to her being so fussy lately and having problems when she's eating. She was crying after every 2 ounces or so. She hasn't been eating as much, and has been giving us terrible icky faces when she's eating, and acting like she couldn't breathe that well. So, I took her into the office, and they are treating her for reflux. Reflux is when during or after she eats her food goes back into her tube that connects the mouth to the stomach. It causes discomfort for her. The poor thing is on meds twice a day for this. The doctor said 50% of infants have it, and she could grow out of it. You can tell she's uncomfortable, so I pray these meds work for her. I hate to see her cry. The good news is she is still gaining weight, so it hasn't affected her too much yet. She is up to 11 lbs. 9 oz. now. She is becoming a little chunk. She is cooing more, smiling more, and so much more attentive to things and people. It is so much fun to see her with her own personality. I love it.
Daddy and I have talked it over, and I just can't leave her with a sitter yet. We have decided that I won't go back to teaching unless he can watch her (if he's on 2nd shift), or if a family member is up here. I am going to watch a couple of kids her age possibly for now. We just want what's best for her, and we feel that is our only option. Well, she's hungry so duty calls. We love you all.

Sorry for the delay in posts. We have been busy traveling, and with visitors. Skyler is doing great. Her last visit to the doctor was a good one. It was her 5 week appointment. She weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces, and was 20 1/2 inches long. They did an ultrasound on her hips to make sure they were OK (they check all babies for this that are breach), so that was great news. Also, they aren't even considering her in the premie category due to her excellent health and growth. Of course that means she's only in the 5th percentile for length and weight due to this, but it's great news to us that they feel she's doing that well. Her next appointment is Sept. 10th, and she will be getting all of her vaccines. Not looking forward to that.
She is now 7 weeks old, and is already up to 9 pounds 6 ounces. She is finally out of premie clothes, and is wearing some 0-3months. She is holding her head up on her own, just not for a long period of time yet. I swear she will be walking in no time. She can crawl right up your body :) She is very impatient, and stubborn. I guess she gets that from my side :) Once it's feeding time, you had better have the bottle ready. She still hasn't smiled directly at me yet. I will let everyone know when that happens. She loves to lay on her back with her legs and arms spread out. It's so cute. She is a very content and happy baby. Her daddy and I are trying to get her to sleep through the night, but the most we have gotten out of her is 4 hours sleep. Not too bad, but a work in progress. We will keep you posted on how she does with her vaccinations. Also, her next pictures will be her 2 month photos. Daddy will be in some of these this time. We are hoping to get all 3 of us in one this time. We still don't have one like that. Hope you all enjoy!
